Posted by Martin Bouda on July 11, 2009: I am trying to put together a team checklist of FORCE RECON Team during the final stage of Vietnam war, so far I can not find a full list anywhere so from bits and pieces on internet and in books, I am trying to do it myself. For each point of checklist, I used a number, if you have a comment to any specific point, please add the point number in your comment so I can modify it in the list later. Where you can see question marks, that I am not sure and further clarification would be welcomed. Thank you for help, please find current list below and do not hesitate to add other ideas:

1 Team size: 6 man, including Doc
2 Weapons: 1x M14, 1x M79, 4x M16
3 Ammunition:
3a M16 - TTL: 400 - 600 rounds, 21 mags (including 1 x 30 rounder if available), remaining in rucksack
3b M79 - TTL: 40 rounds, 20 Grenadier + remaining with team members
3c M14 - TTL: 400 rounds in 20 mags (from "Eye of the Tiger", years 1967 & 1968)???
4 Grenades:
4A 4-8 Fragmentation (M26 or M67)
4B Smoke (M18)
4C CS
4D V40???


INDIVIDUAL EQUIPMENT:

5 ERDL Utilities set - 2x (spare in rucksack)
6 ERDL cover - including piece of signal panel as previous Force Recon "green" bush cover???

Thanks for copying, I was going to do it myself also.

I think we should go through list and check on included or missing items. My list is mainly based on books/i-net research, but I wasn´t able to speak for a longer time to any of Vets about it. And if yes (as some former Marines from 3d FRC and RT Boxscore ... unfortunately different period).

I would like to also have checklists for other years, as the one above is limited to very short time frame when A.Lee was commanding 3d FRC.

4 Admin: Could you add AN/URC 64 radio to point 26, plus Day-Night flare Mk13 should be added.
